Blue smoke from the exhaust

Blue smoke from the exhaust
Symptoms

Is blue smoke coming out of the exhaust of your turbocharged vehicle? In most cases, this indicates turbocharger damage. But there's no need to despair: blue smoke is no problem for us. Drive immediately to one of the TurboExperten partner workshops near you, and blue smoke will soon be a thing of the past.

Blue smoke can be a sign that the oil lines are clogged, for example. This means that the oil supply to the turbocharger is not optimally guaranteed. Blue smoke from the exhaust can be an indication of this lack of lubrication.

Note that this suboptimal oil supply can cause damage to the turbocharger during startup. In this case, it is imperative to contact a trained specialist. The professionals in the TurboExperten partner workshops receive regular training to ensure that they are always up to date with the latest technology.

A completely coked oil supply line, not just in spots, but the entire line is clogged. Very high temperatures must have arisen in the vicinity of the line when the engine was at a standstill.
This oil return line is also completely tight. This damage is often caused by excessive pressure in the crankcase, which prevents the oil from flowing freely back into the oil pan.

An incorrect fault analysis for blue smoke from the exhaust can be expensive. For this reason, you should definitely contact specialists such as our TurboExperts who can perform a detailed analysis if you encounter this problem. To be on the safe side, contact the workshop before you move the vehicle so as not to provoke turbocharger damage unnecessarily.

Possible causes of blue smoke from the exhaust pipe

  • Clogged air filter or dirty compressor
  • Oil return lines clogged or deformed
  • Malfunction of crankcase ventilation system
  • Excessive flow resistance in exhaust system
  • Exhaust gas purification system clogged
  • Turbocharger bearing damaged

If your turbocharger is damaged, the professionals at the TurboExperten workshop can repair the turbocharger or offer you a replacement turbocharger. In addition to the expertise of our partners, you have another great advantage with TurboExperten: turbochargers from BTS that have been professionally installed at a partner workshop come with a lifetime warranty for the car.

If the fault analysis of your vehicle also reveals other defects, you do not need to visit another workshop. Our specialist workshops specialize in turbochargers, but can of course also help you with all other problems relating to your vehicle, regardless of which car and which make you drive.

Our TurboExperts are available for you throughout Germany and look forward to your visit and to fixing your vehicle problem.
